Weekly Update 9/3/2021

Message from the Principal

Dear Families,

Please help us keep schools safe. The Delta variant is much more transmissible than the original COVID strain last year. Therefore, if your child has ANY symptom of COVID (even 1 symptom), you will need to keep them home and schedule a PCR test. We need to ensure we have a safe learning environment for all students and staff. Thank you for your attention to this important health matter.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • 9/6 & 9/7 - NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS

  • 9/22 - Early Release day for Students

  • 9/29 - State PD Day - Distance Learning for Students

MORNING DROP OFF PROCEDURE

Parents dropping off their children to school will enter the campus making the first right off of Hillside Ave.  Drive all the way around to the back off the school and stop at the first set of cones.  Students will unload at the second door of the gym at the end of the building.  There is room for three vehicles inside the designated drop off area.  Students will unload and the next three vehicles will pull forward and repeat.  In order to keep the line moving in a safe and timely manner, students should remain in the vehicles until they unload.  Bus capacity has been increased, so if you would like your child to ride the bus please fill out the Transportation Registration Form.

AFTERNOON PARENT PICK UP

Parents picking up their children from school will enter the campus making the first right off of Hillside Ave.  Drive all the way around to the back off the school and stop at the first set of cones.  In order to alleviate a back up of traffic onto Hillside Avenue and Route 3 in the afternoon, please try to not leave a large amount of space between your car and the car in front of you.  Once the line reaches Hillside Avenue, cars pulling in will be directed to begin a second line.   Teachers will walk students to their respective cars.  Staff members may ask for a photo ID, so please have it available.  All vehicles should remain parked until all students are safely inside their vehicle.  Please do not attempt to pull out of line and make a U-turn.  The entire process has been taking about 10 minutes.  In order to maintain a safe and orderly dismissal, adults should remain in the vehicles unless they need to assist with loading children. Thank your for your patience and cooperation.

We had a great first week of school!  Please remember to send in a golden rod form if you need to change arrangements for dismissal.  As always, please reach out with any questions.  Have a great long weekend!

Sincerely,

Mr. Scanapieco
